First on the agenda was a trip to Computer Corps, a voluntary organization where Justin is one of the volunteers, and also the head technician. Well I don't think that I've seen so much computers and parts in my life! Two warehouses full of old computers and monitors and parts that I had never seen before. We spent a while there looking around and talking to some of the other volunteers there who were friendly and welcoming. After that we drove back into Reno and wandered into the Silver Legacy Casino. Yep, we were all ready to gamble our money and see what we could win! Hmmm... not likely, as we are both NON-gamblers... we were just taking a look at an old mining rig that is the main feature of this casino. After that we had lunch in one of the cafes there. Back on the road again, but no sooner than 5 minutes out of the casino carpark, Justin's car begins to stall. What could be wrong this time? After having to push the car for a couple of meters, Justin gets out and checks it out. Hmmm... it seems that we just happened to run out of gas due to the inoperative fuel gauge from the day before. So off we set on a pleasant (but hot) walk down one of the streets of Reno to find a gas can and gas. An hour later we return, fill up the gas, and are on our way back to Justin's house, where he gets to work in fixing the fuel gauge.
Justin: "If you ever need a quick fix for an
inoperative fuel gauge on an older automobile, simply wire in an ohm
meter between the sender and ground. Zero ohms... and you're dead in the water!
