Day  44 - Sydney (Chatswood)

We were able to spend another day with Peter today, as well as meeting up with another Oddworld fan Amanda (known as Oddness on the forums). We headed across Sydney to a suburb called Chatswood, and to the Westfield Shopping Center there. We were to meet Amanda and her friend near these huge escalators. They were so long that it seemed to take a couple of minutes just to get up to the top level.

Once they arrived we went to find a place to eat. Locating a food court, everyone was able to choose food to their liking. Justin was so hungry that he was able to eat an entire large cheese pizza himself (he was particularly hungry at the time).

Lunch over, Peter and I wanted to check out the local Electronics Boutique. I purchased a Final Fantasy X strategy guide and a copy of Abe's Oddysee for PlayStation (actually as a gift for Justin as he doesn't have a PAL version of the game). Peter bought the Munch's Oddysee strategy guide, which is full of wonderful Oddworld images. Justin found a real bargain, picking up two copies of the PC version of Abe's Exoddus for only $10 (about $5 US).

Justin: "The games I purchased I found to be a great bargain because I can easily give them away to other people who are unable to find a copy of the game, seeing as I already have a PC and PlayStation copy."

Armed with our goodies in hand we walked around some more. Amanda took us to a store called Australian Geographic as she wanted to show us this plastic goop that can be blown up into a balloon. The lady behind the counter kindly demonstrated for us, and we left the store hitting around a large, oddly-shaped balloon.

Our last stop for the day was Starbucks Coffee. Enjoying coffee or hot chocolate, we talked and Justin kept trying to take photos of Amanda and her friend. The balloon didn't last too long, as it eventually was popped by Justin after being hit around by all.

Before leaving we gave Amanda some Oddworld merchandise and a SoBe. Peter returned to the hotel room with us, to again play Munch's Oddysee.
