A vast majority of our service calls are for rear-
screen projectors. From something as severe as a no-power condition to something as minor as a blurry or washed out picture or anything in between we can handle it. Quotes are given based on the job, not hourly.

We pick up and deliver for an additional $75

 

 

 

 

Many of these sets after a couple of years of use start to
go dim, or go black completely. This will in each case necessitate replacement of the light bulb or quite possibly the bulb's ballast.

Other times these sets will start to have a problem with the color of the picture. This is due to the fact that this set has moving parts: a spinning glass "color wheel," part of a larger "light engine" which, like all things mechanical, wears out. The bearings go out on these and along with wrong colors on the screen, is sometimes accompanied by a vibration or squealing noise.

Stellar provides fast, full service for DLP sets. Pickup and Delivery is an additional $75.

 

 

Yes, we do complete restorations!

One of Stellar's specialties is maintenance and repair of vintage televisions. We stock NOS picture tubes and receiving tubes, flybacks, yokes, knobs, etc.

Full restorations on old sets start at $500. Depending on the size make/model the price will vary. Also, pricing depends on whether you're interested in an electronic-only restoration or an aesthetic restoration as well. We can handle anything!

We get asked about Philco Predicta TVs the most. In fact, we specialize in Philco's Predicta television; we've restored many of these sets electronically and aesthetically using modern componentry, providing modern reliability. This does not mean the originality or operation will be changed in any way, it only means that the electronics will be completely 'renewed' while staying original. Predicta restorations vary depending upon if the set needs an  aesthetic only or electronic only restoration, but full restorations start at $1100.

Stellar does antique car and truck radio repairs and restorations! Specializing in pre-1960 cars and trucks, we have many NOS, reproduction, and parts radio chassis in stock; whether you need your radio to just work so you can have some tunes in your classic, or you're doing a 100-point restoration, we can do your radio right and with an average week turnaround time.

We can also adapt your stock radio to accept input from modern devices such as portable CD players, iPods, MP3 Players, etc. The output from your device will then be played through your original sound system / radio; tone and volume will all function normally.
